I am a university student studying BSc Network Management & Design at Sheffield Hallam University. Set to complete my course this May, I am seeking employment to start from July 2017.

Through a love for video games, I have developed a keen interest in technology and its advances over the years. This has enabled me to spend time tinkering with PCs allowing me to build systems from scratch as a hobby as well as troubleshoot and rebuild existing systems. I am a quick learner of computers and software packages with a range of experience with both Mac and Windows based PC’s (Mac OS/Vista/Windows7/8.1) as well as home networking. My interest in home networking landed me at the door of Sheffield Hallam University studying my current major and as such led me to studying Cisco technologies. I am currently studying to take the CCNA Exams, which I hope to complete studies and sit over the summer.

I am an overall friendly and committed individual with a desire to succeed and progress in a career within the technology industry. I strive to give 100% in the workplace and believe that a successful career will span from a punctual, committed and hardworking attitude.

• • Successfully completing my course at Barnsley College with a D/M/M grade in interactive media covering a range of subjects from photography to magazine and website production.
• • Becoming a student at Sheffield Hallam University. Coming from a course in design I had much work to do to ensure my place on the course, from simple things like attending open days and speaking with the tutors and getting to know much more about the course, to perfecting my personal statement and applying.
• • Personal achievement – Building a basic program complete with GUI which allowed the user to insert money (buttons) which they then accumulated credits, based on the amount they had set for the cost of credit. Although seemingly straight forward, due to this being the first program I wrote, many problems were encountered within the code which I corrected to produce a fully functioning and so far unbreakable program in C#.

• • Communication – when it comes to interacting with others I find it really easy to listen and understand a task or someone’s need. I am not one to shy away from interaction as I believe a friendly approach provides a welcoming and helpful atmosphere.
• • Confidence – I am confident with what I can do and within social aspects and I believe a confident attitude is a great thing when it comes to customer interaction. However I don’t boast confidence or hold an arrogant confidence as I understand too much confidence can end in mistakes.
• • Computer Literate – I am able to pick up technology quite easy, especially computers as I have used multiple operating systems for a variety of needs such as, design, gaming and media. I normally find it easy to pick up a device and learn the basics within a very short time period and can usually find my way around problems I encounter given time.
